I still remeber when I was watching it,I was full of anticipation,it is the ultimate adventure story.The first story in the series of The Lord of the Rings.Most people perfer the second one for its incredible computer tricks...although I agree that one is great too,I still think it is the THE FELLOWSHIP OF THE RING lead us into a world full of wonder and magic which was called the 'mid-earth' in the first place.
The story happened in our planet predating recorded history,it is an age when peace and freedom are under attack from dark forces bent on destruction.
However,the Hobbits,small peace loving people,did not aware of the approaching danger —— one Hobbit,Frodo Baggins,had a ring forged secretly by dark lord Sauron who poured his cruelty,malice and his will to dominate all life into it.The ring can corrupt whoever possessed it...
As the dark force is getting closer and closer,the wizard Gandalf choose Frodo,the only one he believe could resist the power of the ring,as a realiable person to set out on a quest to destroy the ring...

Al Pacino play a retired millitary officer who look on himself as a total loser and decide to kill himself after dissipation of all his pension...
This movie is great because after watching it, u will know what kind of man we should respect — a principled man holding on even he know he will pay dearly for his choise.
This movie also is about a friendship between two man even though they have difference in age and charater.
